Where Eli started

Eli is a blue heeler who, as his owner puts it, has some issues. He can be defensive, and before training he did not come back when called. His owner says he could call all he wanted and it would not have mattered.

He researched trainers, called Off Leash K9 Training North Georgia, and Tyler Breh, our owner, took Eli on personally.

The training journey

Eli trained with Tyler for two weeks and was away from home the whole time. Two weeks is a long time to be apart from a dog, so he was kept in the loop with pictures and video updates of the daily training and Eli's progress.

Pickup day was not a quick handoff. Tyler went back over Eli's issues with his owner, then had him work Eli himself, using the same commands Eli had learned over the two weeks. That session ran a couple of hours.

What actually changed

  • He comes when called. On the porch that same day, the neighbor's dog started barking and Eli ran down to the property line. His owner gave one command.
  • Once was enough. In his words, he "didn’t even have to say it twice or use the e-collar for correction he instantly came running back up to where I was at."
  • His owner can handle him. He left knowing the same commands and corrections Eli knows.

★★★★★

“Was outside on the porch and the neighbors dog began barking. Well Eli took off running down to the property line barking back as if communicating. I was up top on the porch and all I did was just give the command “Eli Come” and didn’t even have to say it twice or use the e-collar for correction he instantly came running back up to where I was at.”

What it changed for his owner

Eli's owner calls it a great improvement, and he expects it to keep getting better as he keeps using the training. He signed his review from both of them: Bill Brown and Eli.

Why Eli's story matters to us

A dog who will not come back is a dog who cannot be given freedom. One reliable command changes what a dog's life can look like, and coming when called off leash is the heart of what our board and train programs teach at Off Leash K9 Training North Georgia.

Before and after

Eli, a blue heeler who could be defensive, ignored every call to come back. After two weeks with Tyler Breh, one command brought him running back from the property line on his first day home.

Off-leash recall is taught in our board and train programs: see the 2 Week Board and Train and the 1 Week Board and Train. If your dog is defensive with people or other dogs, read our aggressive dog training page first. Every program and price is on our plans and pricing page.
