Why professional training is essential for Ellijay dog owners
Behavior modification
Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.
Safety & control
A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, livestock, wildlife, and people.
Stronger bond
Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.
Skills that transfer
We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.
Family harmony
A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.

Built for how Ellijay dogs actually live
Ellijay is where the Ellijay and Cartecay rivers meet, with Carters Lake a short drive away and Rich Mountain close by. The Georgia Apple Festival fills the town for two weekends every October. It is a good place to be a dog, and an easy place to lose track of one.
Water, woods and wildlife will test any dog's listening. A dog who follows a scent down the riverbank has to be able to hear you and turn around, and that takes more than a good sit in the kitchen. Coming when called is what we care about most for dogs who live out here.
Full off-leash recall is a core part of the 1 Week Board & Train, along with place, sit and manners at the door. If you want to do the work yourself, the eight-lesson program adds distance work and advanced commands on top of the basics.
Where your dog will shine
- Carters Lake
- The Cartecay River
- The Ellijay River
- Rich Mountain Wildlife Management Area
- Downtown Ellijay
Owner Tyler Breh moved to Georgia in 2015 to start his law enforcement career, and spent most of it as a K9 handler. Since then he has trained in obedience, detection, bite work, tracking and decoy work with working-dog trainers across Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
He and his team of trainers work with dogs and their owners across North Georgia today.

Frequently asked questions
Do you really come out to Ellijay?
Yes. Ellijay is one of the main towns we serve, and our trainers travel here by appointment. If you live outside town and are not sure we reach you, call and ask. We will tell you what works for your area.
My dog takes off on our land. Can training help with that?
Yes. The 1 Week Board & Train covers full off-leash recall, place and sit, plus greeting, door and meal manners. The 2 Week Board & Train builds on that with down, heel on and off leash, and down from a distance.
Should I pick one week or two weeks of board and train?
One week is $1,450 and ends with a 1.5-hour session with the trainer. Two weeks is $2,500, adds more commands and lifetime refreshers, and ends with a 2-hour session. Payment plans are available. Call us today to learn more about payment options.
Can I train my dog myself with a trainer's help?
Yes, that is what the lessons are for. Basic Obedience is four private lessons for $625. Basic & Advanced Obedience is eight for $950, and the last four add advanced commands such as heel, watch, front, stand and obedience from a distance.
Will my dog always have to wear the e-collar?
No. Inside your home, your dog will quickly listen without it. We do recommend putting it on before your dog goes outside off leash, because you never know what may get your dog's attention. Every lesson program and board and train includes one.
